Options depend on your circumstances and the applicable criteria.

  1. Post-Vocational Education Work Stream485Eligible associate degree, diploma or trade qualifications linked to an eligible occupation, with skills assessment requirements.
  2. Post-Higher Education Work Stream485Qualifying degree-level study, including certain related Graduate Diplomas under specific rules. A skills assessment is not generally required for this stream.
  3. Second Post-Higher Education Work Stream485An eligible first visa plus qualifying regional study and residence. Not an automatic extension for every 485 holder.

Subclass 485 allows eligible international graduates to live, work and study in Australia temporarily. Your qualification, visa history and circumstances determine which stream may be available. Completing a course alone does not establish eligibility.

Before you rely on this page

Check the stream-specific age rule, completion window and visa history before lodging. Evidence required at application cannot simply be assumed to be supplied later. Booking does not lodge a visa application, extend your visa or protect an application deadline.
