Subclass 600 can cover tourism, visits to family and friends, or permitted business visitor activities. The right stream depends on your plans and circumstances. These pages cover three key 600 streams—not every visa or travel authority available to visitors.

Ordinary employment is not permitted. Business visitor activities are limited and are not the same as working for, or providing services to, an Australian business.
It depends on the stream, decision and grant conditions. Visa validity and the permitted stay per entry are not interchangeable. Up to 12 months is possible in certain cases, not a guarantee for every applicant.
The Tourist stream does not generally require formal sponsorship. Sponsored Family requires a qualifying sponsor; an invitation is not the same thing.
